Isla has hair

Here we go...see...the fine grassy looking waves...that would be the back of little Isla's head, and she has hair...I find this so exciting.

Ready for the little sister

I have the corner ready, finally, and two weeks from today she will be here and complete our family.

Butterflies and hearts fill her clubhouse

I managed to make my way up and into her little clubhouse, and I applied a fresh coat of mint green paint to the walls and then together we decorated it with beautiful stickers, making it so sweet and girly and just beautiful.  She counted the hearts, when we were done, and said ''they make me so happy mommy''.

Summer wear

I finally found little swimming costumes for Gioia that I deem cute enough, she has plenty of two piece cozzies, but the prints for little girls are rather boring.
I think the little tank top is her first...and boy oh boy does she love posing for me. I just adore the middle photo, see how shapely her legs are, perhaps just like her moms...and the result of walking all day on her tippy toes like a little ballerina.

Re-discovering old friends - little princess heels

These fluffly shoes are a danger to her front teeth, but she wears them in the garden, in the kitchen and for breakfast, lunch and supper.  She can bake in them too!

Wednesdays are whacky

We love Wednesdays. Justin has started a tradition, we used to celebrate with gusto as students, two burgers for the price of one from Steers. Gioia, thus, gets a kiddie meal and toy.  The gadety items dont last till the next Wednesday due to them being inferiorly and cheaply made by children in China, but who cares, the middle of the week roles in and a new item is ripped from its plastic bag and played with until bed time.

French is my flavour

I am getting the main room ready for the baby. Johan asks if I really think she will notice the new headboard? My response to that was a grunt of course.  I love the feeling of change as I walk into our bedroom.  I think the result is French cottage, I cant be sure, either way it settles my nesting heart.

Heart burn no more

Claire bought me these swish little sachets of destruction...hearburn anhiliators to be exact...I have them stashed everywhere...even in my night gown pockets.  I nicknamed this rather disgusting milky treats my 'gavi sucky' and I look forward to the day that I can leave the house without thinking 'do I have one for the road?'

A Sublime Stork Party

I am currently trying to use this work daily...Sublime that is, its a big word for just day to day sentence construction and conversation, but I think it captures the party well that Marnelie hosted for me on Saturday.  I sobbed for most of it, pregnancy has turned me into a wet puddle.  Every little detail of the event has been filed and stored in my fuzzy brain for eternity.  The arrival scene, where my friends and family lined the gateway holding helium balloons with a blessing cards attached, waiting for their release to heaven, was certainly the highlight of my year.

You are the marshmellow in my sweetie pie

Maternity hibernation

I have started stock piling for the scheduled Spring maternity hibernation...looking down into this packet is like being greeted by old friends.  Oh the sweet joys of 'birth' and breast milk.  I know other mommy's are nodding in agreement when viewing this photo.

Left and right shoes for left and right feet, RIGHT?

Gioia can put on her own shoes, and she is also a whizz with doing up buttons thanks to Button Bear.  However, 50% of the time she doesn't put her pumps on the right feet, so to speak, which means we leave the house with little toes pointing outwards as if they have had a disagreement of sorts.  I designed shoe stickers for her a while ago but never sent them in for print, but yesterday I was once more inspired...I will re-design them as a sort of two piece puzzle.  This way she can't go wrong as Bean is gem when it comes to jigsaws.

New Ideas

I love arts, crafts and design.  I made fresh posters for Gioia's educational delight and found the felt idea idea in a Your Family magazine at the hair salon.  Who knew that bleaching ones roots could be so enlightening?

I am 32

Last week I turned 32.  I thought I was turning 33, so I scored a year thanks to my ability to count.  Johan has an ongoing friendship with Mr Net Florist.  I for one support this relationship as it brings us girls much joy.  Here is Gioia with our gifts of flowers and cuddly animals.

I cut my bum out of this memory snap for a reason, it is not proportional to the rest of my body
