Isla gets her Sotho name
Gioia was nicknamed by the staff in Kroonstad as Nthabiseng which means first born, and Friday morning Isla was christened Palesa Rose...I forget the translation for this name, but I am quite sure it means cutie-tootie-monkey-pie!
Little perfect hands
On the way back to Kroonstad from Ladysmith we were stopped at numerous roadblocks. One particular stop lasted an hour. To pass the time on the back seat with my girlies I took happy snaps of them as they napped peacefully in the warm morning sunshine. Isla's relaxed little hands came out so beautifully.
Christmas in October
A good song to start life with...
I love Adele, I even posted about her CD a while back about how much I love her. I play her CD all day in the car and have come to love most of her songs. Gioia has her favourite and so do I, even Johan came back from this rotation and had his track of choice. The days following up to Isla's arrival we all cruised around together in my mommy-wagon skipping to the various favourites. Then, while lying in the theater waiting for our dark haired monkey to be lifted up and out of my torso Adele's sweet and most soothing voice came over the airwaves. Johan and I immediately made teary eye contact and nodded in silent agreement, this was a good song to arrive into the world to. For the record, its track number 5 - Set fire to the rain, my favourite of course.
