Zita Park

Today, at Zita Park, Gioia reached another mile stone that flawed both Johan and I.  After enjoying the sun, water and impromptu picnic sponsored by woolies she insisted, and by this I mean insisted, on going down the super tube ALONE.  Johan got up to go with her and she told him loudly to lie down on his towel, so I followed her up the short hill to the starting point while he scrambled for the end point in the pool.  She would not even let me help her set up at the top, I kindly asked a 12 year old to aid my 2 year old get ready for her first stunt ever.  I waited in the wings and winked at Johan way down at the bottom as Gioia pushed herself off.  She lay flat on her back and the did a horrifying 180 mid slide and landed in the pool head first.  All I could see from my position was two sets of wide eyes and then I ran down the hill to applaud and congratulate her on her truly amazing feat..."I did it, I did it'' is what she chanted down the pathway to our car, even the car guard enquired about what she had done as she was so excited to tell anybody that looked her way.  I think she might just be the youngest monkey to go down that slide alone in the history of its existence, she was certainly by far the shortest in the queue.

Gioia and Johan go down together just before her solo slide

Where is the LIKE button? That is great, I screamed all the way down my first super-tube, and they were screams of delight not fright. Was the super-tube in Parys at Mimosa Gardens, I remember it like yesterday... I hope Gioia will remember her big day too.
