My dad, better known as Grandfather, climbed up a ladder Sunday morning and instead of climbing down one foot at a time flew off it and landed on a cement floor in the foetal position paratrooper style. He is currently calling Welkom his home as he is shuttled between surgeries. He has broken just about every important bone on the right hand side of his body including his Femur. An accident of this magnitude has never happened to a close family member of mine and I must say I am quite traumatised by the experience. Instead of being able to jump into my car and fly across two provinces to assist I have sit bang and let the family members without children take control and call the shots. And so we wait for news. The road to recovery is going to be long and tedious, but Daddy, I hope you get better soon or at least feel better soon. Pod and Bean will be by your side when the worst is over. WE DO LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. In closing, until we magically sprout feathers and wings we should refrain from ladders, gravity is a mistress we can only 'flip the bird' to so many times. Thank you Johan and Ansie for aiding him and getting him to the hospital.
