Making friends

Gioia and I are visiting Granny-B and Fa (Grandfather) for the weekend.  It is a beautiful Kroonstad afternoon and we are so enjoying the cool shaded back garden with all the soft lush grass.  Gioia is parading around in her new swimming costume, while we fill a clothing bath with water for her.  Caru-Lize is coming over for a playdate and we are practising to say her name while we wait.  The girls played together smashingly while the Grannies watch over us lovingly.  I decided on an imprompt tactile messy play session, so out came the sugar, the flour and most of my dad's shaving cream. Thank you Rowan for your contribution, you were asleep, otherwise I would have asked first.  Gioia has now missed her nap and I am waiting for a meltdown.  I have decided that before it even happens I will allow my folks to deal with her, I'm sitting back on this one.  A fresh approach to a hysterical exhausted toddler might just do the trick. Hold thumbs for them.
